Tuesdays at 7PM (September-May)
The Contemplative Prayer group is on "Summer Sabbatical." We will begin meeting again on Tuesday, September 5th. You are still welcome to use the nave or chapel for your personal contemplative prayer practice during the summer! Contact Sylvia+ for days/times when the church is free for prayer.
Feeling the urge to pray to God beyond thoughts, words and emotions? Centering prayer may be for you. This simple method prepares us to receive the gift of contemplation; simply resting in the presence of God — open, alert, receptive. Each 60 minute Tuesday session includes an opening prayer, 30 minutes of silent contemplation, a short reading from a contemplative or mystic (we're currently reading "What the Mystics Know" by Richard Rohr), reflection and conversation, and a very short service of compline (nighttime prayer). For more information about this prayer you might visit contemplativeoutreach.org and centeringnm.com, or contact Larry.
