Holy Saturday at Canterbury
Holy Saturday is an often neglected moment in Holy Week. But it is an essential moment. It is the time of waiting. It is the empty space of "unknowing" between the darkness of Good Friday and the kindling of the new light at the Great Vigil of Easter.
We invite you to join us on Holy Saturday for a Contemplative Retreat (9:30AM-Noon), followed by a short Holy Saturday service from the Book of Common Prayer (Noon), and Easter Decoration and Set up (12:30PM).
You are welcome to join us for any portion of the day.
Holy Saturday Retreat:
Praying Holy Saturday at Home
Christian worship is always a communal practice; we never pray alone. We hope you can join us for our retreat, brief service, and Easter set-up on Holy Saturday. If you cannot, we hope you will pray with us from home.
- Read and reflect on the scriptures for Holy Saturday
- Set aside some time to enter into silent meditation and contemplation
