So, was Francis crazy? A fool for Christ embracing lepers and preaching to the birds? And just a bit mad to believe that God was proposing peace and non-violence as a way of life? Come and decide for yourself!!! David Hoover brings to life this inspiring spiritual teacher. We learn of his deepest struggles about the meaning of life and death, about prayer, mystical experience, war and peace – and the way of universal compassion and non-violent love which flows from a life of union with God.
In a one man readers’ theater style play SAINT FRANCIS returns to our world to share with us his life of poverty, prayer, and peace—and about the Gospel path to “perfect joy”. It is a story that reveals a person who turned the values of the world upside down---showing us today a way to freedom and the love of all.
David Hoover holds a Masters in Theology from the Franciscan School of Theology in Berkeley, CA. He is a spiritual director, retreat presenter and actor. A few years ago he and wife, Sharon, founded Inscape Ministries through which they present Storytelling and dramatic presentations on the lives of Thomas Merton, Dorothy Day, and St. Francis of Assisi.
